CHWP
Community Health &Wellness Program
Overview
The Community Health & Wellness Program (CHWP) by the Arullsamy Foundation is a people-centred initiative dedicated to improving the health and well-being of families living in Sri Lanka’s plantation and rural regions.
For many of these communities, even basic healthcare remains out of reach. Limited facilities, lack of awareness, and financial hardship often lead to preventable illnesses and poor quality of life.
CHWP brings healthcare, nutrition, and wellness education directly to the people who need it most — right where they live.
Building Healthier Lives, One Community at a Time
Our Goal
To promote accessible, preventive, and inclusive healthcare for rural and plantation communities, empowering families to live healthier, more dignified lives.
What We Do
Through CHWP, the Arullsamy Foundation conducts a range of community-based interventions that make healthcare both reachable and practical:
Medical & Nutrition Camps
Regular outreach clinics offering free consultations, medicines, and nutritional guidance.
Maternal and Child Health Support
Awareness and check-up sessions for mothers and children to reduce malnutrition and anaemia.
Mental Health and Wellness Workshops
Safe spaces for youth and women to discuss stress, emotional health, and resilience.
Health Volunteer Training
Each initiative is guided by a team of medical professionals, counsellors, and trained volunteers committed to long-term change, not one-time charity.
Lasting change
Each project brings not only a stronger home, but also renewed hope and security for families who have struggled for generations.
Our Pilot Model
With a modest ₨ 1 million budget, CHWP can transform the well-being of an entire community.
The pilot model delivers:
- 2 large-scale medical and nutrition campsserving 600–800 people.
- 4 wellness and mental health sessionsfor youth and women.
- Training of 10–15 local health volunteers.
- Regular monitoring and follow-upthrough local health offices.
This small investment produces measurable, life-changing results: fewer illnesses, better nutrition, and stronger community resilience.
Health is dignity
Why It Matters
Health is dignity. For families in plantation and rural regions, access to basic healthcare can mean the difference between survival and despair.
By supporting CHWP, donors are not merely funding medical camps — they are giving families the strength to live, learn, and thrive.
Every check-up, every vitamin, and every awareness session creates a ripple of wellness that uplifts an entire village.
How Donors Can Help
Corporate partners and medical institutions can join CHWP through CSR sponsorships, equipment donations, or professional volunteer contributions.
Our Vision
The Arullsamy Foundation believes that health is the first step towards equality and empowerment. Through the Community Health & Wellness Program, we are building stronger, happier, and healthier communities — ensuring that no one is left behind on the path to development.
